	Mobile location based multimedia tourism information system		video
	The “mobile location based multimedia tourism information system” is smart content innovation. It offers professional and individual guidance to hikers and all others travelling cross country in unknown areas. The main contents and functionalities present information on the spot and visualise it for hiking, biking or sightseeing tours. The application frees tourists to follow their interests and understand the options for tracking tours and learning about new points of interest. The mobile application runs on a small Pocket PC and is combined with a GPS device. This way, all information can be presented from the point of view of one’s real world location. The system uses 2D and 3D maps, presents multimedia information like videos and sound files, offers satellite navigation and can be used to generate an individual digital tour or holiday documentation. The system is developed as a reference project for an Austrian village in the Alps. Its rich functionality and high added value makes hiking easier and safer. Are you ready to go?
