BELGIUM

Jeunesses Musicales International (JMI) is the world’s largest youth and music network, and is regarded by UNESCO as today’s most important international youth culture organization. Over 70 national members, associate members and contact organizations are currently part of the global Jeunesses Musicales network.

Thousands of Jeunesses Musicales events are held each year around the world, offering young people various learning opportunities, chances to perform and innovative listening experiences. These activities can be divided into four main categories: young audiences, young musicians, youth orchestras and ensembles, and youth empowerment through music initiatives.

By creating musical meeting points for young people where they can share unique moments and exchange musical traditions, ideas and life experiences, JMI highlights the role music can play in the promotion of cultural diversity and mutual understanding and for almost 60 years JMI has enabled young people to develop through music across all boundaries.

ISEA2004, the leading symposium on new media culture, is shaping up to be an incomparable mid-August destination for a programme-filled experience on electronic arts, music, research and technology. ISEA2004 takes place in Helsinki, Tallinn and on a cruiser ferry connecting harbour cities. The cruise on the Baltic Sea provides a multicultural forum for networking and pleasure. For the first time in Italy the MEDIA training programme is funding distance education applied to new advanced technologies in the audiovisual sector with LUMIERE. Thanks to FOR.COM. Consortium, “Learning in a Unified MultImedia EnviRonmEnt”, in the audiovisual world, is today possible. The general objective of the LUMIERE project, co-funded in the framework of the Media Plus Programme of the European Community, is to give en effective answer to the audiovisual industry needs in order to foster its competitiveness enhancing the continuous vocational training of professionals working in the field. The specific objective is to produce a new vocational training course in new technologies for the production and distribution of audiovisual products.

Content Village is an awareness raising measure supported by the European Community's eContent programme

The Content Village is an interactive Web platform supported as an Accompanying Measure of the European Community's eContent programme. eContent is a market-oriented programme which aims to support the production, use and distribution of European digital content, and to promote linguistic and cultural diversity on the global networks.

Results dissemination is an integral part of the eContent programme. In this context, the Content Village aims to extend awareness of results and best practice, support programme participants, and stimulate the European digital content industry through key information dissemination.

NETHERLANDS

Electronic Media Reporting is a consultancy in the field of electronic publishing and new media, active since July 1, 1990. The consultancy is specialised in content strategy and is active in the Benelux. Together with MMBO Electronic Media Reporting is setting up the europrix.nl – a multimedia award for the Netherlands.


The MMBO (Multimedia Branche Organisatie), the Dutch multi-media association, brings around 25 mostly small young firms active in the new media working area together. It acts as a representative of the government agencies, is a meeting place for managers and specialists and is so promoting the new media branch in the Netherlands.
